This past weekend the Water Ski World Championships were held in Calgary, Canada, Where the world's best skiers descended on Predator Bay to battle it out for the 2009 World Title. Over 150 athletes competed, representing 40 nations and the crowds were huge, packed bleachers lined the shores of the Predator Bay Ski club.
Will Asher, who won his first World Title in 2005 entered the event as the top seeded skier. The pressure was applied by defending champion Thomas Degasperi and Chris Rossi, but with his A1 underfoot Will emerged victoriously taking his second career World Title.
HO Sports would like to congratulate Will on his accomplishment! He joins an elite list of skiers with multiple World titles, namely Bob LaPoint, a 5 time World Champion. Bob and Will, have worked closely together over the past few years developing the Syndicate line of skis with this goal in mind.
Other very respectable results from HO team skiers were Breanne Wagner 6th in open womens slalom. And April Cobble 14th in open womens slalom.
